Dr. Tony Ruprecht: Walking for a united Canada
Dr. Tony Ruprecht has long brought people together around the idea that Canadian unity is strengthened in public, through participation, dialogue, and a shared sense of responsibility. As Chair of the Save Canada Unity Coalition and a former MPP and Minister of Citizenship/Multiculturalism, he continues that civic tradition through the 2026 Public Unity Walk.
From 1978 to today
From the 1978 Laurentian Symposium through the 1980 and 1995 unity rallies, Dr. Tony Ruprecht helped carry the civic invitation for communities of many backgrounds to stand visibly for Canada. The October 3 walk builds on that legacy: a peaceful, public expression of solidarity for the country's future.
